Found on the lower edge of your roofing, flashing known as drip edge. Regular drip edges are 10 feet long 2 and half inch on the top and 1 1/2 inch at the bottom towards the Eavestrough/Gutter or wall fascia flashing.
The material is galvanized and it comes in various pre-printed colors. It covers the gap between shingles or other roofing materials, and the roof deck, plywood or OSB or roof wood planks on which the roof is installed. This prevents water from getting into your attic where wood damage could occur due to ice damn or water.
