A Gunman In The Stratosphere Failed In His Robbery Attempt

Las Vegas police are looking for an armed man who tried to rob the Stratosphere casino hotel and tower poker room Wednesday morning but couldn't steal anything.

Lt. Ray Steever, who oversees the Metropolitan Police's robbery team, said the man was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and brandishing a pistol, entered the casino poker room, jumped into the cash register and was looking for money or chips.

"When he realized he wasn't getting any money, he ran away," Steiber said. "There was nothing he could catch."

Police said the suspect is in his early 20s. He was described as being about 5ft 10in and 160lbs tall. No vehicle description was provided.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

This was the fourth casino heist in the last four months.

In December, a gunman ran away with a $1.5 million chip in Bellagio. Anthony Calleo, the son of District Judge George Assad, was arrested for attempting to sell some of the expensive chips to an undercover officer.

Days before the Bellagio robbery, Caleo is also suspected of having had a similar robbery in the Suncoast casino poker room. It is unclear if Caleo has been charged with the crime.

Two men were arrested as accomplices in the February casino chip robbery in Rio de Janeiro. Police are still searching for masked gunman Stephen Gao, who is known as the incident. 파워볼게임
