U.S. space transport Columbia separated on February 1, 2003, which killed every one of the seven space travelers onboard only minutes before it was to land at the Kennedy Space Center. It was Columbia's 28th mission, STS-107, on January 16, 2003. STS-107 was a flight committed to different examinations that necessary a microgravity climate. The team included leader Rick Husband, Kalpana Chawla, payload expert Ilan Ramon, the main Israeli space traveler among others.

• This 16-day mission was committed to exploring in physical, life, and space sciences, led in around 80 separate investigations, contained many examples and test focuses. The seven space explorers worked 24 hours every day, in two rotating shifts. 

• The payload comprises of the First trip of SPACEHAB Research Double Module; Fast Reaction Experiments Enabling Science, Technology, Applications and Research (FREESTAR); first Extended Duration Orbiter (EDO) mission since STS-90.
