The May Phase MAT 2022 exam dates are now available. The MAT 2022 exam dates for the May phase are out. The MAT will occur twice in PBT and CBT modes in May and five times in IBT mode. What is the MAT Exam?

 

Management Aptitude Test (or MAT) is a national-level entrance test administered by the All India Management Association for admission to MBA/PGDM programs. The exam is taken in four phases: February, May and September, September, and December. Candidates who pass the exam can apply for admissions at 800+ schools that accept MAT scores. MAT can be taken offline (Paper Based Test, PBT) or online (Computer Based Test, CBT), or remotely proctored via Internet-Based Test (IBT). Candidates can take the exam in any format that suits them best. The fees, exam pattern, and syllabus are the same for all three modes. However, exam dates can be different. The COVID-19 situation in India affects the conduct of the BT and CBT exam.

 

Candidates can take MAT as:

  • Internet-Based Test (IBT) or
  • Double Internet-Based Test (IBT) or
  • Paper-Based Test (PBT) or
  • Computer Based Test (CBT) or
  • Paper-Based Test and Internet-Based Test (PBT+IBT) or
  • Computer Based Test and Internet-Based Test (CBT+IBT) or
  • Paper-Based Test and Computer Based Test (PBT+CBT) 

 

MAT Eligibility Criteria

 

Given below are the basic eligibility criteria for the MAT exam:

  • Candidates should have completed graduation in any discipline or equivalent from a recognized university
  • Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply for MAT
  • Candidates who have completed a professional degree such as CA, CS, or ICWA are also eligible to apply for the MAT exam

MAT 2022 Application Process

 

All three modes of MAT exams - IBT, CBT, and PBT - have the same application process. Online application forms can be filled out. Online application forms for MAT 2022 can be filled out by candidates who have paid exam fees of INR 1,650. Below is the procedure to apply for MAT.

  • Open the AIMA-MAT website in a new browser.
  • Click on the "Fresh Candidate to create Log In" tab.
  • Enter name, date of birth, email ID, mobile phone number, and a password
  • Fill out the MAT application form with relevant information.
  • Select preferred test mode (CBT, PBT, IBT), test cities, and five B-Schools
  • Upload a recent passport size photo and scanned signature
  • Make fee payments via debit/credit card, net banking, or e-wallet to complete the process.

MAT 2022 Preparation Tips

Candidates should prepare for the MAT exam at least six months in advance. Candidates should understand the MAT exam syllabus and MAT exam pattern very well. They should also work on their problem-solving skills by studying past years' MAT question papers and taking an online mock test. It is important to plan and adhere to the MAT exam syllabus and pattern when preparing for the MAT exam colleges Here are some tips for the MAT exam preparation:-

 

  • To improve your reading and understanding skills and keep up with current affairs at national and international levels, read the best books and magazines for MAT exam preparation. 
  • Practice MAT sample papers and online mock exams to improve your speed, accuracy, and familiarity with the test pattern. 
  • Analyze your preparation level regularly to identify your strengths and weaknesses in each section. 
  • To score well in the exam, you will need to target topics that carry more weight in each MAT section. 
  • To answer as many questions as possible in MAT, time management is key. 
  • Don't waste your time on difficult questions.
