What is the evidence of the authenticity of the Qur'an?

The central proof that the Qur’an is revelation from God is the doctrine of i’jaz ul Qur’an. The Arabic word i’jaz translates as ‘miracle’ or ‘inimitable’. Thus, the doctrine of the inimitability of the Qur’an asserts that no human words can match its literary supremacy. The basis for this doctrine is provided by the Qur’an itself in the form of a challenge to the unbelievers to produce something of its like. The fact that no sentient being in the natural world (human or djinn) has ever successfully met the challenge confirms the miracle as an empirically unassailable proof that the Qur’an is revelation from God.
