BACKSTORY

Born to a very conservative family, Alice started to question her family as she hit middle school. They wouldn’t let her stay the night with her male friends, wouldn’t let her out after sundown, and insisted on following her to every outing she was allowed on with her friends. It grew old FAST, and it didn’t take long for Alice to start pulling some tricks on her parents. She would lose them in large crowds, and started sneaking out of her bedroom window in the middle of the night.

In high school, Alice got caught up in a bad group. Her friends started mugging people in alleyways to get money, and then started stealing from stores. It got progressively more dangerous, but Alice stayed by her friends through it all. When she was 17, however, it got deadly.

The gang was attempting to rob a liquor store, but the cops showed up outside, ready to arrest the group. Their leader, though, pulled out a gun and attempted to shoot the police. It ended in a firefight, and every member was killed except for Alice. The bullets seemed to bounce off her, and while the others fought for (and lost) their lives, she ran off, discarding her mask when she was out of sight.

From there, she began to wonder just what was wrong with her, and what the limits of her newfound abilities were. She wandered from town to town, traveling down a very self-destructive path until she was found by Storm of the X-Men. She claimed that Charles Xavier had sent her to bring Alice to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, and she was there to help. The two had a long conversation on the ride to the school, and by the time they got there, Alice was willing to give it a chance. 

FUN FACTS

• Her hair is naturally red, but occasionally she dyes it blonde.

• Alice has always wanted tattoos, but due to her mutation, she can’t get them. Therefore, she draws on herself with a sharpie a lot.

• Her favorite color is green.

• Her only vulnerable spot is through her mouth, so while in the field, she wears a mask that covers the bottom half of her face. She drew a smile with large, sharp teeth on it.
