RIYADH: Minor International (MINT), a Thai hospitality company, is in talks to expand into Saudi Arabia, according to the business's founder and chairman. for sale in qatar

MINT founder and chairman William Heinecke responded to a query from Arab News during the online Asian Business Leadership Forum (ABLF) last week, saying, "We're extremely thrilled about what's occurring in Saudi Arabia, therefore we're really hoping that we'll be included in a couple of projects." “We already have a few of projects in the works, and we're quite thrilled to see them through.”

Despite the severe economic impact of the pandemic on the hospitality sector, Saudi Arabia boasts the world's largest hotel pipeline, according to an April analysis from industry research firm STR.

According to the report, the country's predicted increase in room supply of 67.1 percent over the next three years is the largest among the 50 most populated countries.

“Saudi Arabia's expansion ambitions, as well as the strength of other Middle East hospitality markets like Qatar and the UAE, serve as further proof that the region is establishing itself as a worldwide tourism destination,” said Philip Wooller, STR's regional director.

According to STR data, the Kingdom's hotel pipeline had 73,057 rooms. In 2021, 16,965 of the total were expected to be operational.

Hospitality, restaurants, and lifestyle brands are MINT's three main businesses. It owns, operates, and invests in 529 hotels in 56 countries under various brands such as Anantara, Avani, Oaks, Tivoli, NH Collection, NH Hotels, nhow, Elewana, Marriott, Four Seasons, St. Regis, and Radisson Blu.

MINT's portfolio includes 22 hotels in operation or under development in the six Gulf Cooperation Council countries, despite the fact that it presently has no properties in Saudi Arabia.

According to Reuters, MINT saw a 91 percent reduction in hotel revenue year over year in August of last year, as average occupancy levels fell to 9%.

MINT reported a THB5.2 billion ($165.4 million) deficit in the first quarter of 2021 earlier this month.

“The recovery from the pandemic will be bumpy. “2021 will continue to be a difficult year,” Heinecke stated at the ABLF event. The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal has launched a new 20,000-square-meter FIFA standard football and rugby pitch at the resort, joining a select group of global hotels that provide the professional-sized surface as part of their leisure offerings. The football ground, which will be used for professional team training seasons, sports camps, corporate incentive programs, and other sporting activities, is now open and accepting reservations.

The property's new recreational facility, which has views of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, has an exclusive Club House with a private gym and recovery area, making it ideal for professional sports teams visiting Abu Dhabi domestically and globally. A secondary 7-a-side pitch and a specific goalie practice area are available at the stadium, which can also be changed into a rugby field for professional matches upon request.

The new football and rugby pitch, when combined with the resort's other recreational and event amenities, such as the Grand Lawn and fairytale wedding ballrooms, is ideal for visitors searching for a unique venue to book outdoor events, team building activities, and kids' camps. On request, the facility provides putting facilities and practice mats to in-house guests wanting to improve their golf skills.

“With the introduction of our brand-new FIFA standard football and rugby pitch, The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal has confirmed its place as one of the capital's leading luxury leisure destinations,” said general manager Christian Hoehn. We join a select group of hotels able to provide a hub for professional athletes to train and stay, being one of the few in the capital to do so, and certainly the only one with breathtaking views of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. We look forward to welcome our guests and continuing to give the world-class service that The Ritz-Carlton hotels are known for.”
