Liam Livingstone hit the 1000th six of IPL 2022
The IPL 2022 has witnessed several records being shattered in what has been a gruelling yet exciting two months of the 10-team season. While batting megastar Virat Kohli became the first batter to score 7,000 runs for a single franchise in T20 cricket senior opener Shikhar Dhawan became the second batter to cross 6,000 runs in the IPL (behind Kohli).
Meanwhile, emerging pacer Umran Malik also managed to clock over 150 kmph consistently.
However, the most unique record of them all was arguably reserved for the Punjab Kings all-rounder Liam Livingstone who struck the 1,000th six of this year’s competition during their final league fixture against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on May 22.
It is to be noted that Livingstone had also struck a gigantic 117-metre six off Gujarat Titans pacer Mohammed Shami which is the highest in this edition.

Teams that cleared the boundary the most in IPL 2022
With the number of sixes surpassing the 1000-mark this season, it is the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals who have succeeded in clearing the boundary on most occasions with 116 followed by the Kolkata Knight Riders (113). The Punjab Kings occupy the third spot with 110 maximums.
The table-toppers and title favourites Gujarat Titans have scored the least number of sixes which happen to be just 69 and the Royal Challengers Bangalore, who boast of having big hitters, have only managed 86 of them.
Even the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who were one of the most inconsistent teams, have scored only 97 maximums.
The fourth to seventh spots in this category are occupied by the Delhi Capitals (106), Chennai Super Kings (103), Lucknow Super Giants (101) and Mumbai Indians (100).
