I can't put this book down. The crude feeling it inspires is inconceivable, as bondage was a pervasive practice in America for quite a long time and used to legitimize the abuse of individuals of color by whites who had their own advantages on the most fundamental level – love of cash over some other qualities or convictions framework; those blameworthy don't merit pardoning!
