The Korea Basketball Association has Completed

The Korea Basketball Association has completed the "second basketball i-League" in 22 areas to expand the base of basketball.

The 2023 Basketball Youth and Youth Club League (i-League, hereinafter referred to as Basketball Eye League) completed all of them after a business evaluation meeting on the 1st.

A total of 527 teams and 5,591 players participated in the basketball i-League, which marks its second season this year, in 22 cities, counties, and districts across the country, up from last year. Basketball i-League aims to expand the base, close the infrastructure gap between regions, and to enjoy basketball that combines basketball and various cultural and educational contents. It is a project hosted by the Korea Sports Association and organized by the Korea Basketball Association and each local government's basketball association, and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the National Sports Promotion Agency.

An official from the Daegu Metropolitan Basketball Association, who participated in the basketball i-League for the first time this year, said, "When I saw the i-League in other regions last year, I thought it would be good to do it in Daegu." Compared to adult basketball club members, local youth sports were lacking, and Daegu youth basketball became a turning point in revitalizing through the basketball i-League. In addition to the executives and management, the response from parents and youth players was really good," he said.

In addition to regional leagues, basketball i-Festa and daily clinics (8 times in total) were held to provide various opportunities on the subject of basketball, and to strengthen communication and cooperation with local basketball associations by holding working-level workshops and business evaluation meetings.

"It was great to be able to play with teams and players in more areas where the second i-League is held," said a representative for the Korea Basketball Association's basketball i-League. He also expressed his gratitude for the hard work of local government officials. "We will continue to strive to expand the base of basketball and bridge the gap in infrastructure." 스포츠토토
