All customers will have to cancel their reservation 24 hours from the time of their original reservation without being charged a JetBlue cancelation fee, irrespective of the selected fare.
There are several fare choices to choose from when booking a JetBlue flight: Blue, Blue Plus, Blue Flex, and Mint. The biggest difference between the 4 is Mint, their premium cabin experience that is flown only on selected routes. The same "Blue fares" are mostly different in terms of point-earning, baggage allowance and associated fees.
So if you buy a $125 Blue Plus ticket and have to change your flight, you'll need to pay a $100 change fee plus the difference in fare if the new flight becomes more expensive. Similarly, if you need to cancel the same flight straight away you will still have to pay the $100 fee to do so.
Any remaining balance will be placed in a JetBlue air-only credit after your flight has been canceled and can be applied to future travel for 1 year from the date it is issued. If you do not show up for your flight and do not change or cancel before the scheduled departure, all money related to the segment will be forfeited.
Unless you booked your flight with TrueBlue tickets, the adjustment or cancelation charge associated with your ticket's cash value will have to be payable. According to JetBlue Cancellation policy, if you used
10,000 points to offset a $130 fare but then needed to cancel it, you'd pay a $100 cancelation fee because the fare's cash value would fall between the $100-$149.99 tier. The points you used to buy the fare will then be deposited back into your TrueBlue account after doing so.
