South Korea's Women's Handball Departures to Japan for 11th consecutive Olympics

The South Korean women's handball team, which is trying to advance to the Olympic finals for the 11th consecutive time, left for Japan today, where the Asian qualifiers will be held.

The South Korean women's handball team, led by head coach Henrik Signel (Sweden), will compete in the Asian qualifying round for the 2024 Paris Olympics in Hiroshima, Japan, from the 17th to the 23rd.

Five countries, including Japan, China, Kazakhstan, India, and Korea, will participate in the competition and rank them in the full league.

The first place goes straight to the Olympic finals, and the second place gives you a final qualifying berth to compete against other continental countries once more.

South Korea's women's handball team has won 10 consecutive finals from the 1984 Los Angeles Games to the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, holding the highest record in this category.

Other than the Korean women's team, the Spanish men's team has advanced nine times in a row until the 2012 London Olympics.

Korean women's handball, however, has not been in the medal table since the bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Games. 스포츠토토

It finished fourth in London in 2012, eliminated in the group stage in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, and reached the quarterfinals in Tokyo in 2021.

In terms of objective power, Korea and Japan are likely to compete for tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics finals.

Korea has won all three matches against Japan recently.

He won the 2021 Tokyo Olympics finals 27-24, and also won the Asian Championships 33-24 the same year.

In the final of last year's Asian Championships in Seoul, they defeated Japan 34-29 after a neck-and-neck race.

South Korea will play the first game against India on the 17th and face Japan on the 23rd.
