This year WhatsApp will add to two new features for android users which data protection and advanced search. In this article, we discuss those features.
Advanced Search allows you to browse through your WhatsApp message archive by content type to find what you are looking for. Whether it's an old link to the recipe, meme, voice recording, or video clip, the feature will narrow your search based on the file format. It works in much the same way as the new Gmail search formats, allowing you to add a content filter to any text-based search.
Along with advanced search, Android users will soon have the ability to protect their data catalogs through the so-called “Protected Backup”. When you try to run a message backup you will see an option to add a password to encrypt future data safeguards (which is appreciated).
The password used for Protected Backup will not be stored by Whatsapp or Facebook, the parent company of WhatsApp, which means that your file is less likely to be hacked. But it also means that it is better to remember your password once you have set it if you want to see your backup at some point.
Sometimes we use WhatsApp on PC. But don't worry these two features are also available for those people.
This article only introduced these two features. Keep in touch to know more about those features.
