AZIO ("ay-zi-oh") started with 2 friends who decided to face the task of combining architecture and technology. They started with traditional yet ignored workspace instruments and asked the question, "Can we do more?" Looking at the daily life of nearly all modern people, the keyboard and mouse use these techniques. To cross the limits, Azio's line of retro classic keyboards and mice were played with untraditional materials and softer shapes than any other.
Our original discovery was influenced by the classic typo and combined the antique aesthetic of the past with the versatility of digital equipment. We went over all the specifics of the traditional keyboard & mouse with a special user interface and asked "What should we really push into design?"
We also created individual molds for circular keypads and personalized mechanical switches that light up from the middle uniformly. The click-through feel of our keycaps evokes nostalgia and pleasure. We chose to avoid the cold plastic surfaces that most industrial claviers use and instead use high-quality materials.
