Introduction
I have been a student in the US for the last six years. Here are some things you should know about life as an Indian student in USA:
Educational Requirements
The educational requirements vary depending on the course, but most students will need to have a bachelor's degree in their field of study. Some students choose to get a master's or PhD in order to do research and learn more about their area of interest. Others pursue law degrees because they want to work as lawyers or judges for the government.
Visa and Immigration Process
Once you are in the United States, there are different types of visas that you can apply for. There is the F1 Visa, which allows students to work on campus. The J1 Visa allows students to work off campus.
The visa process is relatively quick and easy if your application is approved after being reviewed by USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services). The process can take up to 6 months or longer depending on how quickly your paperwork gets through customs at entry into America's busiest airport: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
Work Permit
You may work on campus or off campus without a work permit. You are required to have a Social Security Number, which can be obtained through the Department of Homeland Security website at ssa.gov/ssa/.
If you want to work part time while attending classes, you must apply for an Off-Campus Work Permit from the International Office if your course load is less than 12 credit hours per semester (fall and spring) or 8 credit hours per summer session (summer). If it is more than 12 credit hours per semester or 8 hours in summer then you will need to apply for a Full Time Work Permit from an employer located within New York City or Westchester County who has been approved by NYSCAD as having sufficient funds available for proper social security coverage; this does not include students working on campus during breaks between semesters as well as those who were not previously enrolled in classes during any given term due to illness or injury sustained outside of their normal work schedule
Working Hours
You can work up to 20 hours per week. During the summer, you can take full-time jobs or part-time jobs if needed. You will also have the option of working on campus or off campus if you desire to do so.
You can get a job in a restaurant, retail store or other types of businesses if you feel that this is what you would like to do with your time after graduation from college or university
Conclusion
Study in USA is the best option for Indian students if they want to pursue their studies in US. This is because it offers better academic facilities and provides a good job opportunity too. The visa process is also very easy to apply for and the process of studying in USA is also very simple. You can easily get admitted into any university or college with just few steps.
