It refers to the transfer of somatic cells nucleus into an ovum which then grows into an embryo. Both reproductive and therapeutic cloning share many techniques but are done for different purposes. Reproductive cloning is mainly done for cloning animals for research, cloning endangered species to expand the population, cloning extinct species to research their behavior and other characteristics.
