Lancaster University is a true government research institute. It is a highly ranked collegiate international institution that is not a member of the Russell Group. There are eight undergraduate colleges and one postgraduate college at the university. This university was founded in 1964, and it was one of the many new universities that arose during that decade. The motto of the organisation is "Truth lies exposed to all." Lancaster University has the best university rankings in the world.

History

Lancaster University was created in 1964 by a Royal Charter of the United Kingdom. Prior to that, the post-World War II population was concerned about the necessity of education. Between 1958 and 1961, this institution was announced as one of the glass plate universities for the first time. From the inaugural year until 2004, Princess Alexandra of Kent served as the chancellor of Lancaster University. In the initial year, the institute enrolled its first students, but science students arrived in 1965. In 1964, it founded the first two colleges, Bowland and Lonsdale, and in 1966, it received the first college building.

Scholarships

The institution offers scholarships and support for students' education, as well as covering their living expenses in some situations. Various prizes are available from various faculties and departments. In 2021, the institution has announced two undergraduate scholarships. If they are eligible they can get both the scholarships at a time-

 

  • £1,000 Lancaster Scholarship- Eligible students will get this scholarship each year of the program.
  • £2,000 Lancaster Scholarship- Eligible first-year students only get this one.

A bursary of £1,000 value is also available for eligible candidates of 2021 from UK government funding.

The students who have finished their undergraduate or post graduation from this institute can get two types of awards named Alumni Loyalty Scholarship.

For undergraduate degree holders-

  • 20% fee reduction- First class result needed in bachelor.
  • 10% fee reduction- For 2:1 bachelor degree holders.

For postgraduate degree holders-

 

  • 20% fee reduction- For the students who have finished their first Masters with Distinction.
  • 10% fee reduction- For the students who have earned their first Master’s degree with Merit.

Besides, the university also offers some loans and funds according to the need of the students.
