Attilio Guardo - Author of The Other Side of Love

My love for writing manifested at an early age. When I was nine years old, I wrote a 55-page novel called “Three Ways.” Two years later, I wrote a play, which was performed in my backyard.

Graduating from the University of Hartford with a BS in General Business Management, I then became a member of the United States Army. Upon leaving the military and becoming employed in the accounting and management profession, I did something that most people told me was brave – I married a divorced woman who had six children. I was married forty-one years before my wife’s death in 2016.

A few of my grandchildren inspired me to write children books. They loved my short stories. Engulfed in earning a living, I managed to complete two rough manuscripts. They sat in my file cabinet for some years until I decided it was time to submit one for publication.

It was 2004 that I finally completed my first novel, “A Special Time in Clear Creek.” A year later, I completed a sequel to my first book “Halloween at Clear Creek” and it was published.

Eventually, I focused on a children’s book which title “The Bald Eagle Who Wanted to Fly the American Flag,” came to me one morning out of the air while I was taking a shower. Though I consider it as a children’s book, several adults love it and have enjoyed it immensely.

I want to say that if I had to start my life over, I would pursue vigorously a career in the field of writing. I would also love to spend a great deal of my time in the world of art, painting with oil and watercolor.
