According to Researchers in Oregon, USA two chemicals present in hemp may be able to inhibit COVID-19 infection. Hemp is a type of Cannabis. Interestingly, this study is released at a time of rising Omicron( a variant of COVID-19) cases in the USA.

Research At University of Oregon

Scientists at the University of Oregon in the United States of America carried out this research. Also, the study was published in the Journal of Nature Products. Two hemp-derived natural compounds known as cannabigerolic acid (CBGA) and cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) were taken for the study. These natural compounds are precursors to CBG and CBD respectively. Moreover, Instead of real human test participants, it took place on human cells in a lab.
