How to Clean the Carpets

A clean carpet is essential for the façade of your home, the health and hygiene of the people who live in the home and also very important item in your end of lease cleaning checklist. It is certain that your carpets would become dirty, no matter how much or how hard you try to keep it clean.   1. Beat up the carpet with a carpet brush: You can use a carpet brush to remove soil, dust and other pollutants from the carpet. You would have to go on your knee and scrub, beat up the carpet to achieve this aim. After you may beat up the enter area of the carpet, you would use a vacuum cleaner to pick up dirt and pollutants that you may have loosened up by beating up the carpet. Then dip a rag into the bucket, ring it out and scrub the carpet once more, then let the carpet dry.
  3. Using baking soda: Baking soda is an awesome household item some people even refer to it as a miracle product because it can be used for almost everything from cooking/baking to cleaning household items. And also it is very affordable. Cleaning your carpet with baking soda is easy. Just sprinkle a liberal quantity of baking soda over your carpet or precisely on the stain, with a spray bottle, lightly spray the soda with warm water allow the mixture to sit for at least three hours, this would ensure that dirt and odors are absorbed. Then after it has dried, use a vacuum cleaner to clean up the baking soda.
  4. Cleaning your carpeted stairs: Living in a multi-story building? Then by now I’m sure you realize how quickly the carpets on the stairs get dirty. So to get the carpet on your stairs clean, you would need to make a homemade carpet cleaner — 1 cup of vinegar, 2 cups of hot water, 2 teaspoons of table salt, 15 drops of lavender oil — mix all these in a large spray bottle, replace the cap and shake very well. Use a stiff brush to scrub your stairs starting from the top to the bottom, brushing the stairs would get rid of hard dirt that the vacuum cleaner can’t remove. After you may have brushed the stairs, you can now vacuum; again you start from top to bottom. Next, you apply the cleaning solution, spraying generously, and then using a scrub brush, scrub each stairs. Allow the carpet to dry then vacuum the stairs to remove any dregs.
  5. Cleaning area rugs: Cleaning your area rugs takes a few ingredients; they are low-priced and also toxic-chemical free — 1 cup of vinegar, 2 cups of water, 2 teaspoon table salt, 15 drops of any essential oil of choice. Start by vacuuming the area rug on both sides, next you would need to apply drops of the mixture to one spot of the rug to test the colorfastness of the rug, if the solution doesn’t discolor the area, continue with cleaning. Mix the solution in a bowl, deep a brush into the solution and scrub the rug. Allow the mixture to sit in for several minutes, the get rid of the solution in the bowl, fill the bowl with fresh water, dip a rag into the water and use the rag to clean the rug thoroughly. Be careful so the rug doesn’t become saturated.
