The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is constituted by the government of India and it is a governmental department of Tamil Nadu. TNPSC mainly work for providing the suitable candidate for state's public service. It was first named as Madras Service Commission in 1929 and then its name is replaced by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission in 1970.

- TNPSC holds the responsibility of handling the daily administrative tasks, interviews, departmental promotion activity, and implementing the decisions.
- TNPSC also supervises and control the process of conducting examination smoothly from notifying the candidates for exam to providing hall tickets to them.
- TNPSC Advises the Government for preparing the framework of rules and principles for recruitment process of the State, Subordinate and Ministerial Services.
- TNPSC Conducts departmental exams for Government servants and on behalf of the Ministry of Defence
