3 Key Stats and Features of the Mack Titan

When you need to haul a large load across the outback, you need a vehicle that can handle rough terrain, bad conditions, and seriously long distances. The more you can tow, the better your profits. Only a heavy-duty road train road warrior can get the job done, and that's exactly why people in Queensland are furiously searching for a Mack Titan for sale. Learn more about this behemoth and see if it's right for you.

1. A Version Just for Australia

Mack rarely makes other variants of its vehicles; but for the Australian market, that's exactly what they did. To help the truck handle the heat, the cab was raised and the hood got taller to make way for a much larger radiator. To conquer the unpaved roads, Mack added double and triple frame rails to fortify the frame and help it stay true even after thousands of kilometres of violent driving.

Keeping the dust out of the engine was a top priority. Mack added vertical air intake snorkels, like the kind you'd find on a Jeep that was eager to go underwater, to minimize damage to the air filters and extend their lifespan. And speaking of air, the air brake system is overbuilt to allow for multiple trailers on your road train.

2. Excellent Engine Options

Mack discontinued its iconic MP10 engine in 2017 at the same time as they ceased production of the Titan in the United States. It's still available in Australia, though. Better still, Australia's got new engine options to keep the production line humming along. The Titan has three engines you can choose from: Two Cummins motors and a Caterpillar C-16.

The Cummins engines are known for their reliability and durability. The ISX has been Cummins top seller for years now and is one of the most common engines for long-haul vehicles. The Signature 600 engine improves power and fuel economy over the standard ISX 15-litre. Meanwhile, Caterpillar's C-16 is available as an alternative to the Signature 600, with similar power and torque outputs.

3. Cleaner Exhaust

Mack, like most automakers, has had to adapt to increasingly strict regulations regarding vehicle emissions. They've implemented Selective Catalytic Reduction, or SCR, to help cut down on nitrogen oxides and keep particles from escaping into the air. With customised exhaust options, you can decide where exhaust leaves the vehicle to suit your needs. SCR even helps you get more performance out of your engine and increase its lifespan.

The new engine options also produce fewer emissions while getting better fuel economy, making the latest Titan the cleanest one yet.
