• The match between mentor and protégé began with a respectful handshake between the two women before they locked up. Jill had the advantage between the two of them in a lot of categories but one of the main ones was strength as she simply picked Amaya up and dropped her face first into the mat before she gave a rather condescending pat on the head to her protégé.
• Amaya had the speed advantage over Jill and she had every intention on using that to her benefit but Lockhart practically knew the woman better than she knew herself as she put a halt to her plan by simply sending her to the mat with a Japanese Arm Drag.
• The flow of the match saw Jill being particularly dominant and allowing her experience to shine through. The control was also giving her a lot of confidence, which she already had going into the match. The English woman was already looking to deliver the killing blow to Amaya as she attempted to connect with the Chelsea Dagger but Copeland managed to duck the deadly strike and connected with a Roundhouse to the side of Lockhart's head.
• Amaya had found an opening and looked to fully capitalise on it as she started to nail some offence on Jill but nothing was keeping the English woman down as she kicked out of several pin attempts by the younger woman. But it was Jill connecting with a huge Bicycle Knee Strike followed by a Lungblower that turned the tides of the contest yet again.
• The match continued with Lockhart mostly in control for the entire time, but Amaya managed to get some bits of offence in as well. Both women found themselves fighting on the apron and Lockhart lifted Amaya up onto her shoulders, looking for Hartstopper off the apron but Copeland drove multiple elbows into the jaw of her mentor, allowing her to slip off her shoulders and into the ring, she immediately sprinted to the opposite side of the ring, bounced off the ropes and Speared Jill off the apron through the middle rope! She quickly tossed Lockhart in and nailed another Spear but only got a very close 2 count.
• Copeland didn't let it phase her, however, as she quickly climbed up to the top rope and attempted to nail a Moonsault, only for Lockhart to get her knees up in time! Chelsea Dagger was then hit immediately after, Jill then picked her opponent up and dropped her with the Hartstopper! The referee slid into the cover!

• Amaya had somehow kicked out of the Hartstopper, something nobody else in AEW was able to do up until this point. Lockhart immediately retreated back into the corner and sized Amaya up for one more Chelsea Dagger, but Copeland ducked out of the way again. She attempted to connect with the Spear, but Lockhart turned it into a Sunset Flip, but she let Copeland roll through and immediately caught her with Ultima Weapon!
• Lockhart had surely claimed victory but she knew how tough Amaya was so she decided to deliver the killing blow as she lifted her up and looked to spike her with The Devil's Calling but Copeland turned it into a Victory Roll out of seemingly nowhere as she crossed both of Jill's legs, leaving her in a seemingly inescapable pinfall!

𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩: Amaya Copeland defeats Jill Lockhart to win the vacant AEW Women's World Championship.

𝙋𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝: The crowd was stunned as the protégé had somehow managed to cause the upset and defeated her mentor.
Lockhart sat in the corner of the ring in sheer disbelief as it sunk in that she had lost quite possibly her best opportunity at winning the AEW Women's World Championship.
She stood up and grabbed the championship away from the referee and looked towards Amaya before back at the championship. Copeland, knowing Jill's history with partners and championships, immediately assumed the worst as she simply turned her back and held her arms out, opening herself up for Lockhart to seemingly strike her from behind.
Lockhart looked like she was about to strike Amaya, but she instead walked up behind her protégé and strapped the championship around her waist before pulling her into a hug. She immediately rolled out of the ring and let the new champion celebrate.
