Must Have Habits of a very efficient Escape Room player
Communicate - It is very important. It is the only feature between teams that crash the escape room and complete it over time, and teams that get stuck and get stuck or tangled. If you find an unattached item that appears to be part of something else, let your team know. Maybe they found other parts. If you see a strange picture on a sign or door, let your team know. Really, if you see an attention-grabbing detail, share it! Sometimes the best teams we've seen don't start solving anything in the first five or six minutes of a match. Instead, they spend time searching the room to find out what they are working on. If you find a particular type of lock, please share it.
Try something - You would be surprised how often we hear a team mention a possible solution to an enigma, sometimes even the right solution, and then keep wandering around or watching something that is hindering their progress without taking any action. Sometimes it's not enough to say no, you just have to act. It's good when you're wrong. It simply eliminates the possibility and brings your team closer to the right solution. Trying and failing is better than having an idea and doing nothing.
Sharing space - Sometimes it's important to know when a puzzle will hit you head on and step away from it so you can experience it for someone else. If you feel like you're banging your head against a wall of stories for five or ten minutes, give someone else a chance to bang your head against that wall for you. Maybe they have a thicker skull than you, and they want to break through that wall, or maybe they've discovering a conversation you missed and getting your team back on track. There is no shame in not being able to solve all the puzzles. Kelowna escape games are a team game for a reason!
Remember What You Did: You can't waste any time with your team other than forgetting which puzzle piece you have already used. Then it ends with the team trying to solve a puzzle they have already completed or trying to use the pieces of a puzzle. Completely independent challenges. The vast majority of well-designed quest rooms will use a certain piece / puzzle piece only once.
Relax - Remember, escape room Kelowna is a game! No one judges you and there is a pass / fail factor for whether you turn the clock or not, so we can promise that the clock will not flash if it strikes you. The fun of the game is in finding and solving puzzles - opening the last door after winning, while there is definitely something special, not particularly interesting.
