Johnny Benson was recently named by the team to operate a vehicle the absolutely no. 46 Toyota Camry in the next race of the season. Benson looked back on how he got the position. The Wyler's and (Crew Chief) Tony Furr talked about to complete some testing on their behalf on the end of last year and that we thought that test went pretty well, says Benson. As this season got underway, these were talking about doing a bit of more testing and called to find out if I would undertake it. I said, "Yeah, I'd be happy." I thought it will be pretty cool to enable them to make sure just to enable them to out. I like doing that form of stuff, he continued. After testing, the team liked his performance which led to him being named as the team s starter. We went along to Richmond earlier this month and the test went perfectly. I was hoping if they ever went racing I'd receive an opportunity they are driving. I told them they was lacking any obligation personally to operate a vehicle it, but that I so want to hold the chance. This past week they called and said that we had been going to race at Richmond and that I could drive, so I was pretty enthusiastic about it. It's a pretty cool deal, enthused Benson.

As far as his expectation to the upcoming race with his fantastic familiarity with the track, Benson definitely seems to be ready for that race. I think all together Richmond has become a great track for me personally. I love racing there. I love the sort of track it can be. I like what sort of racers approach that track knowing it's a two groove race track. Benson also stated the love to the track in the recent statement. You can race anywhere you need, he admits that. You don't have to beat and bang your way past somebody. It's just an excellent race track. And it's really a Saturday night race that's great for that fans and you also understand the whole atmosphere aspect of it is good. It's a sort of track that I like. It's a challenging track but it's and a finesse style race track. I think that falls in doing my suit. I've a great deal of great races there plus some that people've run rather well which don't contain the finishes to prove that based off being caught up in something. But it's actually a place that I enjoy and want to race at.

The next race will probably be locked in relatively shorter tracks than other speedways. For Benson, this truth is considered as a bonus. I like racing on all in the tracks that people go too. They all have their unique challenges. But I think because so many racers - because we was raised on short tracks - we always enjoy racing with them, says Benson. We do this many intermediate tracks now that the short tracks can be a somewhat more few in number; maybe not much inside Truck Series, but within the Cup Series. So I think all of us enjoy heading back and running the short track races.

While Benson has experienced good races in Richmond and he admitted the track is always to his liking, how he performs inside the actual race can be seen in how he's tested his Camry with the speedway. To his credit, Benson looks set to experience a good race after he has completed his test from the track without having symbol of problems whatsoever. I think the communication that I had with Tony Furr at the test in Richmond was excellent, he said. We unloaded for that test and were decent quickly from the truck, he added. He also credited his team for the way the exam went. As the morning went on, I was pretty impressed by Tony and all sorts of the guys that actually work at Wyler Racing. I was impressed when I worked with them in the Homestead test this past year and then, of course, at Richmond too. They all work effectively together and communicate well. Our speeds were good and we were very pleased with our qualifying efforts and our speeds in race trim.

While testing good is really a positive boost for that team, Benson knows the actual race will be a different area. It will be a different deal going back for that race, but I hope we are able to conserve the kind of run that individuals had with the test, Benson said. The opportunity sitting in front of us is a good chance to hopefully go there and run well, he concluded.

With Benson s driving experience, his understanding of the track with his fantastic admission that this next track they is going to be racing on is always to his liking, there can be a positive chance which he could have a great race come May 5. Aside from that, he has a Toyota Camry they are driving that is engineered to offer more boost than standard a Toyota Camry built with a Toyota cold air intake system.
