At Cumberland Academy, children work diligently in their classes, learning and developing under the direction of our outstanding teachers. Many of our students are adjusting to life on their own because this is often their first time living away from home. We are making a lot of effort to assist pupils who are learning how to deal with autism for the first time.

Cumberland Academy is a school like no other. Our students come from all over the world and have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Cumberland Academy is a place where these students can feel safe, loved, and challenged all at the same time.
A normal day for students at Cumberland Academy begins with a circle time activity. This is an opportunity for students to share anything they would like to do about their day. It is also a time for announcements and morning songs. After circle time, students will head straight to their class to start with their academic subjects.
Numerous academic subjects, such as math, physics, English, social studies, and others are offered at Cumberland Academy. Each subject allows students to work at their own pace and ability level. Teachers at the academy have received specialized training in working with and supporting kids with ASD. Students are given the choice to take part in a variety of activities following academic classes. These pursuits range from music and exercise to art and more. Each day, students get to pick the activities they want to take part in.

The Academy has a talented and dedicated staff of teachers and support personnel who are committed to helping every student succeed. Each day at Cumberland Academy is filled with opportunities for growth and learning. Students receive individualized instruction in the classroom, as well as participate in group activities and therapies. There is also plenty of time for recreation and socializing with classmates.
Academy students have the chance to experience all the best that life has to offer. They learn how to interact with others, solve problems, and express themselves in a variety of ways. Academy students are supported every step of the way as they grow into happy and successful adults.
