Level 1 Inspection: This is the inspection required to confirm that the chimney can continue to operate under the same conditions. Only those parts of the chimney, structure, and flue that are readily accessible are inspected with a flashlight.
Level 2 Inspection: All the visual inspections included in a Level 1 Inspection, plus the attic, roof, basement, and crawl space, if accessible. With the use of internal camera inspection equipment, accessible areas of chimney flues and the inside surfaces of all flue liners within the chimney must be inspected. In comparison to the Level 1 inspection, there is an added cost due to the use of a camera system.
