The Certified ScrumMaster or CSM training in Bangalore trains a person to be responsible for managing the process. The CSM training in Jaipur or a CSM training in New York helps this person to act as a lodestar to guide the team through the entire process of Scrum through their expertise.

The scrum master is very important to the team as they understand the practice, theory, values, and rules of scrum. But they are not involved in the release of the product, which is done by the product owner and the team. The knowledge of a scrum master only helps support the team and keeps them from failing. But a scrum master is not the ‘boss’. They are servant leaders who are not part of a hierarchy who is breathing down the necks demanding ROI.

A scrum master has a more holistic approach to work as they promote a sense of the community and support their decision-making power. Though they must refrain from over-evangelizing on team members who are not able to do scrum properly. They should instead act as teachers and catch people who are doing things right to showcase that things can be done better. But they are not responsible for the success of the project.

So, the work of a scrum master is that of a coach who helps the team to work cross-functionally while being self-organized. They also help the team to remove any obstacles in the process and coach them with the help of meetings. Such an obstacle could vary from unnecessary approval, updating hardware or software, to slow response from another team. To the team, the scrum master is someone who keeps their work path clear so that they may focus on the work effectively and efficiently.

Other than being a team mentor and servant leaders, they also function as product owners. In this role, the scrum master ensures that everyone on the team is clear about the scope, goals, and product domains. They also offer tools and techniques to effectively handle the product backlog concisely and clearly. A scrum master is also adept at Agile and practices agility.

The scrum master also helps the organization through coaching and leading the transition to the scrum framework. They help stakeholders and other employees to work in an empirical model of product development. They lead this whole process of change to increase the productivity of the team. They also work with other scrum masters in the organization to ensure scrum is utilized to its optimal level.

They constantly dispense information to the stakeholders regarding the sprint status and the development effort. This exercise is carried out through various communication efforts that include the normal discussion mode to using artifacts that scrum provides like backlogs to burndown charts. They are the glue that keeps the entire project together through facilitating rather than by participating.

The role as taught at a CSM training in Bangalore or a CSM training in Jaipur can be roughly understood as that of a mechanic who knows each part of a car and keeps the car in proper working condition but does not drive it. The CSM training in New York also teaches how the scrum master helps the product owner through the technical user stories and inspires collaboration between the scrum manager and product owner.
