While the value of India’s home textiles export has fluctuated in recent quarters and decreased in January-March 2022, exports from neighbouring Pakistan have shown a steady increase during the period. Home textile exports from China have also grown steadily except for the first quarter of 2022, when new COVID-19 outbreak was detected in that country.

In the January-March 2021 quarter, the value of India’s home textiles exports stood at $2.153 billion, which declined to $1.997 billion in April-June 2021 quarter. The value improved to $2.377 billion in July-September 2021, but it again slipped marginally to 2.333 billion in October-December 2021. The export in first quarter of this year (January-March 2022) stood at $2.189 billion, according to data from Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro.
