These error messages are basically there to help you out in troubleshooting and repairing your LaserJet’s fault. Various models of HP printer have slightly dissimilar wording for the error, but the troubleshooting steps are usually the same. HP Error Code: 02 - Warming Up

This error is usually associated with the printer cable or some issues with the driver. To resolve this, turn off the printer and try removing the printer cable and then turn it back on. If the printer displays "Ready" then you simply need to update the driver. If there is still error, then there may be some hardware problem.

HP Error Code: 10 - Supplies Memory Error

Your printer has an issue with the toner cartridge chip that it is unable to read. First of all, try resetting your HP printer by turning it on and off. If this doesn't work well for you then remove and reinstall the cartridge or replace it.

HP Error Code: 11 - Paper Out

There’s an issue with the paper tray or paper sensor, if your printer isn’t out of paper. Place your printer on a completely flat surface. Make sure there is no damage in the paper tray and clean out any toner build up. You can also try checking the paper sensor and cleaning the opto-sensor.

HP Error Code: 12 - Open or No EP

This error occurs when your printer doesn’t have toner cartridges installed correctly. Also, either printer cover is open or has defective cooling fans or PS5 sensors. Ensure all the toners are installed correctly and all the covers are closed appropriately.

HP Error Code: 13 - Paper Jam

Generally, paper jams occurs at four stages such as pickup, printing, fusing and exiting. Simply remove any stuck paper from the paper tray or any other part of the printer.

HP Error Code: 14 - No EP Cartridge

Your HP printer either doesn't have a toner cartridge installed properly or doesn't recognize one that is. Normally, you can try removing and reinstalling the toner cartridge to resolve the problem.

HP Error Code: 16 - Toner Low

This error means that either your toner cartridge is low or it is empty. However, it may also mean that the remaining printer toner is not distributed consistently. You can try removing the toner cartridges and gently shaking it to evenly distribute the remaining toner. Once it gets drained completely, you can try replacing the cartridge.

HP Error Code: 20 - Memory Overflow

Your print job exceeds to the limit of current memory capacity of the HP printer. For this, you need to reduce the size of your print job. You can try plummeting the DPI or un-ticking the collate option in the printer driver. Also, try to make your document or image simpler. Alternatively, you can also install additional memory to avoid this error.
