Is there any way to put drugs, vaccines into dogs and cats?
There are three routes of administration of drugs and vaccines into the body of animals commonly used:

1.1 Subcutaneous injection: This is the most common method, simply because it is the easiest to do of all, and can be used for many different drugs and vaccines.

- Subcutaneous injection method for dogs and cats: Disinfecting the injection area, take 3 fingers, pull up the skin, then put the needle into the skin part and inject the medicine. Easy is not it. Because it is so easy so many people are subjective, wrong injection techniques how to make dog throw up.

- Common cases of parenteral injection:

+ Too shallow needle stick: Injections into the epidermis (not needle through the skin) this is usually only for local anesthesia. You often see this situation when you just inject and use a small cylinder (0.5 ml - 1 ml)

+ Too deep needle stick: Either you inject into muscle, or you inject into peritoneal sinus (usually when injected under the abdomen) or you pierce the skin to the other side, stick the needle out to inject outside the dog body (yes can be poked in the hand)

Advice: In case of using subcutaneous injection, you should inject it in the neck skin, the skin in the back, limit injection of the abdominal area. After getting used to the hand, you should inject it under the abdomen because you can inject vaccines, drugs into the abdominal cavity, this problem is extremely dangerous.

1.2 Intramuscular injection: This method is less commonly used. But it is often used by those who have injected many familiar hands or used by doctors. In this case, do not you create abdominal muscle injection, it is very dangerous

- The technique of intramuscular injection is quite simple: You determine the dog's muscle part to inject: the breast muscle, the thigh muscle, etc. Disinfect the injection area, Stretch the skin there, insert the needle and inject the medicine.
- The case of wrong intramuscular injection you often see:
+ Stabbed shallow needle: Too shallow stabbed into the skin then injection.
+ Insert the needle too deep: You pierce the needle through the muscle, into the common case because you press too hard, you will immediately feel the bone at the tip of the needle, then, do not rush, lightly withdraw the needle come out a little bit and then pump in.

Or you put the needle through the muscle, into the internal organs, this is less common, often when injecting the breast muscle.

+ Stabbing in nerves, blood vessels: The case is relatively common, not many people learn through veterinary medicine, so it is not clear the path of nerves and blood vessels through the muscles. There has been a case, after the butt injection was completed, the dog with pin needle was broken because of the wrong injection technique, you should pay attention.
