With your social work license—and your career—depending on the results, it’s natural to be concerned about taking the social work licensing exam. ASWB offers two specialized tools to help you prepare.

Online practice test

Available to registered candidates for US$85. A full-length 170-question practice test with software that mirrors the test center software, the online practice test can be used on any computer that has Internet access. You’ll have a total of 30 days to take and review the test and you will receive a detailed score report showing your performance in every content area. Available for the Bachelors, Masters, and Clinical exams only. There is no online practice test available for the Advanced Generalist exam.

There is only one version of the online practice test for each category.

ASWB Guide to the Social Work Exams, 2nd edition

All new! The perfect companion to the online practice tests, The ASWB Guide to the Social Work Exams, 2nd edition offers an in-depth look at how the exams are put together, the methodology and logic of test development, and tips on how you can reduce anxiety and develop your own customized study plan. The exam guide is available for purchase to all individuals. The ASWB online practice tests do NOT include references, detailed information on item or test development, or test content outlines. The practice tests are just that—full-scale 170-question practice tests that use retired test questions from past exams and provide posttest diagnostic information and item rationales. Online practice tests are available for purchase only to candidates registered to take the Bachelors, Masters, and Clinical exams. There is only one version of the online practice test for each category, and the questions are the same as the ASWB Group Review Practice Test available to accredited schools of social work. less
