The fishing in Dubai is surprisingly big. Fishing is the oldest human occupation, and in Dubai, it has taken on many different forms. Traditional fishing includes a wide variety of fish that are caught by a variety of methods, including nets, lines, and traps. Furthermore, there is a number of other traditional fishing methods used to catch unique species such as the fiddlers – small fish that jump over the surface of the water – which are usually caught at night with hand-held nets.
