NDA exam is conducted by the UPSC to recruit the candidates for the National defense Academy. The NDA is only academy in the world which trains the candidates for three forces of nation. NDA Selection Process:-
The selection process of NDA is in the three Phases:
- Written Exam (Conducted by UPSC)
- SSB Interview
- Medical test
First the candidate has to appear for the written test and the candidate who would qualify the written test will appear for SSB Interview. NDA Training Procedure and Duration:-
After you clear all the phases of exam. You will be called in the Academy and you will be allotted your rooms. NDA training begins on very first day. First day you will learn the rules and regulations of the Academy. Lifestyle of NDA cadet is not easy as it looks like. They train themselves day and night to be a warrior.
Few days of starting will be all about your fitness and diet and morning exercise at 4am. They will also teach you about the military subjects.
After few days when you will have enough knowledge about your body and diet & fitness, now the training board will start your Basic Military Training in the guidance defense personnel’s in which you will taught about the Weapons used in the war and how to use those weapons. You will be trained so hard in this, so that you can prepare for the next training.
Right after you pass your basic military training you will be in the 2nd stage of your training which is Advance Military training this can be bit tough, but remember you are with the best trainers. They will take you to the different location like Jungle, mountain etc where a normal person cannot survive, you will train hard to survive in that situation. There you would have less water, less food, no medical kits you will be taught to survive in that situation. In this all you will learn team work. How to work with team, how to move along with team, never leave your partner behind etc.
After this training you will start your class training again, where you would learn about advance military tactics and different international langues. Your training procedure will go on like this.

Duration of NDA training:-
You will be trained in the NDA for 3 years and these 3 years would be divided into six semesters after passing these all semester successfully you will be given graduation degree B.tech/B.sc/B.A from the JNU, New Delhi
After that you will be sent to your respected wings whichever you have given as first preference like for Army Cadets-Indian Military Academy (IMA) , for Air Force Cadets-Air Force Academy (AFA) and For Navy Cadets -Indian Naval Academy (INA) and here you will be trained for 1 years.
Here you will be trained about your duties, responsibility etc. After you pass this successfully there would be Passing out parade and then you will be posted as officer in your respected branch.
