WKBL Hana OneQ renews FA contract with main guard Kim Si-on

Kim Si-on, the main guard of women's professional basketball team Bucheon Hana One Q, will continue to accompany Hana One Q.

Bucheon Hana One Q Women's Basketball Team (owner Lee Seung-yeol) officially announced on Thursday that it has renewed its free agent contract with Kim. Hana One Q signed a three-year contract with Kim for a total of 140 million won (110 million won per year and 30 million won per year).

Kim Si-on, who was selected as the second overall pick in the first round (2nd overall) at the 2014 WKBL New Player Selection, debuted at KDB Life Insurance (currently BNK Thumb) and became a key six-man of BNK Thumb in the 2022-2023 season.

Hana OneQ recruited veteran forward Kim Jong-un ahead of the 2023-2024 season and recruited Kim through a surprise trade with BNK Thumb (BNK Kim Si-on ↔ 2023-2024 WKBL Freshman Selection First Round Selection, 2025-2026 WKBL Freshman Selection) ahead of the 2023-2024 WKBL Freshman Selection.

Kim Si-on quickly adapted to his new team and achieved a personal career high with an average of 26 minutes and 42 seconds playing in the 2023-2024 season, averaging 5.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

It also contributed to the Hana OneQ Women's Basketball Team's first playoff entry in the 2023-2024 season by performing well in the role given silently, although not spectacular.

Kim Si-on said, "I only spent one season in the team, but the team atmosphere was good, so I adapted well without any difficulties, and I am grateful that the club and the coach recognized my value well. I am happy to continue to accompany the Hana One Q Women's Basketball Team and I will contribute to further growth and the team's advancement to a higher place."    배트맨토토
