Engineer Australia, known as EA, is the professional organization in Australia responsible for assessing the knowledge and competencies of engineers who wish to migrate. Many engineers both within and outside Australia apply for migration through the migration skill assessment tests each year, and EA aids them in achieving their goals. Engineers who wish to apply for a visa through the General Skill Assessment Program must pass a positive skill assessment test. However, there are specific guidelines that engineers must follow to take the Engineer Australia Skill Assessment Test.
Engineers planning to migrate to Australia must submit a CDR (Competency Demonstration Report) to the Engineers Australia (EA) Skill Assessment test before being granted an immigration visa. The CDR is a set of documents that showcase the applicant's abilities and must be submitted to EA by the applicant. EA assesses engineers based on their knowledge, personal and professional attributes, and competency. To increase the chances of approval, applicants should submit a perfect and plagiarism-free CDR report containing all the required details provided in the guidelines by EA. EA recommends original content and avoidance of plagiarism content. Engineers Australia desires all engineers migrating to Australia to have the required skills and expertise to work in the country, and therefore, applicants must pay the EA assessment fee charged to evaluate their competency level.
The CDR report comprises a Continuous Professional Development List, Three Career Episodes, and a Summary Statement. The CPD list demonstrates all that the engineer has done to grow in the engineering field after graduation. The Career Episode writing allows engineers to showcase their skill levels, and the summary statement highlights the particular competency EA is looking for in the engineer's career episodes.
To apply for a Skilled Assessment Scheme migration to Australia, applicants must have an appropriate academic qualification, be below 45 years old, and have engineering work experience. They must also have evidence of evaluation, certified under IELTS or equivalent to level 6 for each of the four IELTS categories. If the Skilled Occupation list includes the engineer's discipline, they must submit an Expression of Interest through Skill Select and demonstrate that they possess the necessary skills and qualifications for their desired occupation. EA assesses the applicant's knowledge and skill, qualifications, and forwards its report to the Skill Select. Applicants can only receive an invitation to apply for a visa within 60 days of the assessment process if they achieve at least 60 points.
The EA has a Migration Skill Assessment Handbook that contains all the information regarding the process and guidelines for Engineers Australia MSA booklet for CDR writing. The MSA booklet provides detailed information; however, most applicants applying for an Australian immigration visa still get rejected as they fail to fulfill the Engineers Australia standard requirements. The EA Migration Skill Assessment procedure divides engineers into four categories based on their skills and expertise: Professional Engineer, Engineering Technologist, Engineering Associate, and Engineering Manager. In each category, the applicants have different roles based on their skills and expertise.
