Just when I thought things were starting to return to normal, I hear the news that Las Vegas casinos are closed. Park MGM to temporarily close midweek as COVID-19 pandemic slows tourism. Park MGM Hotel reopened Sept. 30 after coronavirus shutdown. The Review-Journal quoted a letter to MGM Resorts staff saying the hotel would be closed from noon Monday to noon Thursday
This is not the only Las Vegas casino closed during the week. Wynn Resort's Encore is also closed Monday through Thursday, according to the report. Sand Fallazo hasn't taken reservations for weekdays since July. Nevada authorities have allowed casinos to reopen since June, but visitors have slowed down.
Caesars Entertainment's two hotels - LINQ Hotel and Experience, Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino - accept weekend hotel reservations only. Meanwhile, another MGM hotel, Nomad Las Vegas, reportedly located upstairs in the Park MGM building, will remain open midweek. Other hotel facilities such as casinos, swimming pools, restaurants and amenities will also remain open.
