Privacy is the new environmentalism if data is the new oil. As the usage of data grows, so does the need for strong data privacy strategy protections. Indeed, strong data privacy strategy protects consumers from rogue employees spying on them (as shown at Uber or Google), as well as the well-intentioned staff who have been hacked, and when data is exchanged between departments or corporations.

Regrettably, traditional attempts to ensure the data privacy strategy of shared data are inherently faulty, and several high-profile failures have occurred. Failures can cost organizations millions of dollars in fines due to increased regulatory scrutiny from the GDPR in Europe, the CCPA in California, and the PIPL in China.
