What is the new system for warehouse racking?

Do you feel like your warehouse is messy and disorganised when you come in? Are there forklifts rushing around, pallets scattered on the floor, and people struggling to locate products and stock? Or are you seeking a warehouse management system to help you make the most of your existing storage space.

Then, the best solution is to  implement an industrial racking system at your workplace.

Investing in an industrial racking system can help you with a variety of storage problems in warehouses, including:

  • Getting pallets organized and off the floor
  • Increasing the efficiency of workers and automating some of the work involved in pallet storage and access.

Do you want to know the new system for warehouse racking? It's the pallet flow steel racking system.

More about pallet flow steel racking system

Pallet flow rack systems employ a rack-supported structure with raised rails and dynamic components (wheels, rollers, and conveyors). Flow systems use gravity to their advantage. Pallets are loaded at one end of the rolling lane and then fall to the other end, where they are ready to be emptied, due to gravity.

When compared to traditional selective rack systems, pallet flow storage systems are considered a high density storage system since they can store more pallet loads in the same amount of area.Pallet flow storage systems only require one aisle for loading and another for unloading, allowing numerous pallet loads to be stored side by side. As a result, pallet flow systems can reduce operational costs like forklift, labor, and energy while also reducing the need for new buildings.

Pallet flow racks are  built specifically for FIFO (first-in, first-out) pallet storage. There are two aspects to the  pallet flow rack system:

  • Elements that transport product down the flow lane in a dynamic way
  • Static components that provide physical support to the system

The dynamic parts of a pallet flow racking system are various wheel or roller components mounted within a decreasing frame that use gravity to carry pallet loads from one end of the flow system to the other.

Brakes are occasionally spaced at different intervals inside the flow rail system to keep pallets moving at a predetermined speed, safeguarding the pallet and pallet load from unnecessary jolts and contact with each other, potentially damaging the product.

Pallet entrance guides can aid warehouse staff in accurately positioning pallets within the flow rail system. Pallet ramps are also offered at the exit end of each flow lane to help bring pallet loads to a gentle stop and reduce end impact.

Facts about pallet flow racking system:

  • High-density storage is available.
  • Automatic inventory rotation and first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory control
  • It's ideal for storing like-items and high-volume products.
  • The rack structure is made up of a dynamic flow rail and a static rack structure.
  • Loads on one end, then unloads on the other (declined) end.
  • With no energy consumption, flow is formed by loading action and gravity
