Sweet Pepper (1923)

I purchased Sweet Pepper

as a $1 dollar used book.

Written in 1923, by Geoffrey Moss, a retired British Major,

it was his first book,

written as a girl's adventure story.

Jill (19) worked for the British

Military Mission in Vienna, during World War I.

Now that the war is over, she

dreads returning to London to find a job... without her wartime

work, she's penniless.

A sympathetic officer suggests

that she visit Budapest as a holiday, before she returns

to London...

And the Adventure begins.

Although written as a romance

novel, it has incredible detail

of the Hungarian society as

Hungary's lands are being partitioned off to the surrounding Bolshevic countries, at the direction

of The Supreme Council in Paris. The "Peace Treaty".

There is also deep psychosocial

analysis of individuals and

ideals and motivation..

It's not a disaster book...

except for the human condition.

Titanic occurred just prior

to WWI...

This is 1920... just after.

If you liked the 1997 Titanic Film,

This is the raw material.

A film is over in 2 hours ...

I spent 37 days with this book

at 11 pages a day.

Time well spent.

I took notes in the book,

referencing Titanic scenes.

I gave the book away to

someone who would READ IT.

Titanic is found in the Bible Code...

The first film about Titanic

was in 1912.

In 1943, Germany made a big

budget film, the first called

"Titanic".

Ironically, the German ship

SS Arcona, was later used

in prisoner transport at the

end of WWII... It was sunk

by the RAF, resulting in more

deaths than occurred in the

Titanic Sinking.

Titanic is also a Twilight-Zone

event in REALITY,  having been

accurately foretold in the 1898

When you consider that the

Author of Futility was. a Navy

man, who claimed to have

invented the PERISCOPE,

and that gyroscopic torpedoes

existed since 1885...

and that the sinking of the

Lusitania was caused by

German U-boats...

You have to wonder about

that German Propaganda Film .
