Concentration is the desired attribute for every aspirant who intends to appear in the competitive exams. The competitive exam pattern is different from the exam pattern of academic exams. Competitive exams like SSC CGL, IBPS PO, SBI CLERK, etc are government job exams that need a lot of hard work and concentration to prepare effectively for the exam.

Some candidates fail in the various attempts of the SSC CGL exam. They need to prepare effectively for the exam so that they can qualify for the upcoming SSC CGL Exam. There are some common mistakes that aspirants commit while preparing for challenging exams like SSC where you have millions of competitors.

The reasons for the failures are due to the lack of concentration while doing SSC CGL exam preparations are:

1. Preparing for more than one exam

Candidates who choose to pursue more than one exam are subject to a lack of concentration. They are confused thus they are not able to study properly for one exam. Their mind is always diverted which leads them nowhere. With such exam preparations, they are not able to perform well in any of the exams. Therefore, candidates should choose to prepare for one exam at a time.

2. Reading more than one book for one subject

When candidates read the basic concepts or topics from more than one book they lose concentration. The main reason is the language flow in which the concept is being explained. Every author has a different way to express the same concept, if one reads the same concept in two different expressions, one loses concentration as it leads to confusion.

3. Not studying regularly

Aspirants should plan a proper study schedule to prepare for the exam. If studies are not resumed regularly then it becomes difficult to learn and understand the topics.  Aspirants who follow the regular study strategy can score high in the exam because they will be able to master maximum topics related to the exam.

4. Spending time on social network

Computer and mobile-savvy candidates are generally found busy with social networks such as WhatsApp, Facebook, etc. They should avoid spending time on them because it leads to a waste of time and energy. Students lose concentration which results in failure. Therefore, one must avoid being active on social networking. Keep yourself away from friends get-together, if you have a big friend circle. Take a break from them till you appear in the exam.

5. Negative thinking about the exam

Listen and read the success stories of the previous year aspirants and be motivated rather than thinking negatively about the SSC CGL EXAM. Some candidates come across failures and develop a negative thought about the exam. A negative thought will not bear any fruits even if you work day and night or burn a midnight oil. It is advisable to concentrate only on studies if you are preparing for a competitive exam like SSC CGL.

6. Lack of practice

Candidates who do not do any practice after covering the entire syllabus tend to lose concentration because they stop studying after finishing the syllabus. They become overconfident which makes them lose concentration because they take a gap and start with practice only a week before the exam.

7. Not attending regular classes

Candidates join reputed SSC Coaching in Chandigarh or nearby your location but some of them hardly attend regular classes. It is a wrong practice as they miss the session and the topics taught in the class. They should follow the time table provided by the coaching institute to learn all the topics. The sessions are comprehensive and students can ask their doubts while taking the lecture. They should join an institute with small-batch strength to get personal attention from the lecturers.

These are some of the mistakes that are generally observed by the experts leading to a lack of concentration while doing SSC CGL exam preparations.
