MARKET OUTLOOK

According to an analysis by Triton Market Research, the SCARA robots market in Asia-Pacific is likely to flourish at a CAGR of 10.78% in the projected period 2019-2028.

ASEAN countries, Japan, China, Australia & New Zealand, Taiwan, South Korea, India and Rest of APAC together form the Asia-Pacific’s SCARA robots market.

The Chinese authorities announced the Robotics Industry Development Plan with an aim to aid the expansion of the industrial robotics industry in the country. According to the plan, China aims to produce 100,000 industrial robots every year by 2020. Likewise, the sales of service robots are also expected to cross 30 billion yuan by the same year.

The manufacturing industry in China is going through a rapid transformation. Due to the increased aging population and increasing labor costs, the old model is not sustainable any longer and automation is considered to be the future. The automotive and electronics manufacturing continues to display tremendous growth. As these sectors make use of industrial robots, these factors are likely to grow the SCARA (Selective Compliance Articulated Robot Arm) robots market in the country.

Japan is one of the leading countries in the industrial robotics market. The Japanese government, in 2014, established a goal to realize a “New Industrial Revolution Driven by Robots. To make the country a robotics superpower, it revised this goal in 2015, naming it as “New Robot Strategy: Japan’s Robot Strategy–Vision, Strategy, Action Plan.” The increasing government initiatives to promote robotics are helping the growth of the SCARA robots market in the country.
