Everybody loves a good tea party, especially for the food, the tea and the time well spent with loved ones. However, throwing one can be a nightmare if you do not plan it well. So, if you have difficulty making the arrangements, these tips should help:

Plan a menu

After you set the date and invite everyone, planning a menu is the most crucial step. Tea parties are incomplete without an assortment of bakes and cakes. You can make them at home or quickly get them from a bakery. Usually, sandwiches, pastry cakes, cookies, tarts, puff pastries, quiches, and tea cakes are perfect accompaniments for tea.

You can add a variety of sweet and savoury things to keep it exciting and make the most of the available options.

Choose the tea

A tea party is incomplete without a perfect cup of tea. Today, you can incorporate an assortment of teas into your party menu, from calming chamomile to refreshing mint to a classic cup of black tea brewed with high-quality longleaf tea.

Set the table

Keep the set-up simple. Add a muted table cover, use small centrepieces to prevent crowding, and keep your serve-wear ready. Ensure you add a stack of plates, cups, saucers and cutlery for everyone to serve themselves and eat without interruptions. Adding napkins and glasses is also essential. Also, ensure everything is ready and in place way before the guests arrive.

Additionally, set some hot water aside, heat some milk, and prepare the sugar and other accompaniments like lemon slices, etc., beforehand.

Keep foods warm/cold

If you have an oven, preheat it to 200 degrees and place the hot foods in it to keep them warm until the guests arrive. If you order fresh cream pineapple, red velvet pastry, or any other mousse-based pastry, keep them refrigerated until the guests come since they taste best when served chilled.

Plan some games

Besides sharing stories and laughter, tea parties are an exciting time to party and play board games. So, hunt for interesting ones and prepare them before the party begins to ensure your guests have a gala time.

Include vegetarian options

When you choose a particular puffy pastry, quiche, pastry for your menu, include vegetarian and eggless options. For example, if you order a chicken and cheese butter buff, have some spicy paneer butter puffs too. Alternatively, if you get a Dutch truffle pastry, include its eggless variant.

This adds variety to the spread and allows vegetarian guests to try similar items on the menu.

Relax and enjoy

Lastly, remember that this is a party. So, having fun is essential. Get ready, put on your favourite dress, relax, and enjoy the time with your loved ones while you play the perfect host and perform all the necessary duties.
