Greetings, traveler.
This collaborative album is
the result of multiple months of
work by many lovely artists.
It is meant to serve as an
introductionary point for all
who happen to stumble across
our project.
Aural Alliance may seem like just
another music group getting
stuff out, however it goes much
deeper than that.
We have a mission, and that
mission involves being the
anthithesis to what the
mainstream music business
has turned into.
In the past month alone,
Bandcamp has been acquired
by Songtradr, and the first
thing they do is lay off half
of Bandcamp's unionized staff,
while essentially announcing
the begin of the 'enshitification'
of Bandcamp in the name of
downsizing the company that
has been loved, growing and
profitable for over a decade for
"sustainability" aka. making the
line go up in the short term
at the expense of everyone else.
AI has been going rampant and
growing into an increasingly
powerful tool to replace one
of the few things corporations
couldn't take away from us yet:
Creativity.
Additionally, just this week Spotify
announced their unprecedented
move to simply not pay artists
who aren't popular enough and
not gather a certain amount
of streams per year.
We are not even worth cents
to them anymore.
Art and creativity continues to be
under attack by capitalist vultures,
and artists all around the world
struggle more and more.
We can only implore you to try
and look out for the artists you
come across. From a simple repost
to financial support, anything is
everything and we all have to
stick together if we want to
ensure that moneybags and suits
don't take away every single
joy in life for their 5th yacht.
