Entresto Heart Failure

Adults with chronic heart failure are prescribed this medication. This medication can help reduce the need for hospitalization if symptoms worsen, as well as the risk of death from heart failure.

Entresto Drug Class

This medication contains a combination of two drugs:

1. Sacubitril

2. Valsartan

Sacubitril is an antihypertensive drug. It works by boosting the amounts of specific proteins in the body that help blood arteries expand. By lowering salt levels, this aids in the reduction of blood pressure.

Valsartan belongs to a class of medications called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARB). Valsartan reduces blood pressure and increases blood flow by preventing blood vessels from constricting.
