The entire Agmark system was created by Archibald Livingstone, the Agricultural and Marketing Advisory to the Government of India during the period 1934-to 1941. This certification ensures that the agricultural products in India conform to the set of standards approved by the Directorate of Marketing and Inspection, a Government of India agency.
At present, the Agmark standards cover over 200 agricultural items including pulses, vegetable oil, cereals, and other semi-processed goods. This mark also incorporates horticultural items and food & beverages that are entirely produced/partly manufactured & partly produced.
