Triton Market Research has concluded that the North America food robotics market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 10.28% in the estimated years 2019-2028.

The countries reviewed in this market are:

•         The United States

•         Canada

The food industry in the US is one of the country’s largest manufacturers, and processed food items have witnessed a steady growth in demand over the years. The processed food industry majorly contributes to the global economy, in terms of both, exports and FDI. More than one-third of the top 50 food & beverage-processing firms in the world are headquartered in the United States. Furthermore, several top multinational food manufacturers, such as Groupe Danone, Kirin, Diageo, Unilever, SABMiller, Asahi Breweries Cadbury Schweppes, and Heineken, have their presence in the country.

Many of these companies are making use of robots for sorting and packaging processes. US-based Robot Systems has developed robotic palletizing and depalletizing systems. The articulating robot arms offer flexibility and versatility. With the help of automatic tool changers, the robot can switch between cartons, palletizing bags, pouches, drums kegs, and barrels. Also, based on throughput rate, the robots can perform tasks like pallet placement, sheet placement, and even labeling of containers.

Kindred AI, another start-up based in the country, has developed SORT, a robotic sorting and piling system. All these developments indicate a growth in the adoption of industrial robotic systems in the US, which in turn created a huge demand for the adoption of these systems in the food processing industry. The increased demand will augment the growth of the US food robotics market over the coming years.

Bastian Solutions Inc is engaged in developing cutting-edge technologies in both material handling equipment and information systems, and is known for its superior operational strategies. Its range of industrial robots includes the UR3, UR5, UR10, CR-15iA, and CR-35iA, among others. Since 1952, Bastian has evolved from a Midwest company into a multinational firm, with over 20 offices in the US, and also has several international offices. The US-based company is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The top key players in the food robotics market are Fanuc Corporation, Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd, ABB Ltd (ABB Robotics), Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Robert Bosch GmbH, Rockwell Automation Inc, Flexicell, Kuka AG, Precise Automation Inc, Mayekawa Mfg Co Ltd, Bastian Solutions Inc, Seiko Epson Corporation, Yaskawa Electric Corporation, Universal Robots, and Stäubli International AG.
