Most people have already received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Some have also received their second dose. But one important thing to remember is that even the two-dose vaccine does not guarantee that you will never get infected. With new variants, the vaccine only works up to some point. If your immunity is low, there are still chances of getting an infection. In such cases getting tested in the COVID-19 test clinic in the UK as soon as possible is the best way.

Side Effects of Vaccine

After vaccination, you will experience some minor side effects. It has been observed that for most people the first dose of the vaccine is affecting them the most. These side effects signify that your body is building up its immunity against the virus. You will mainly get side effects like:

  • Body pain or headaches
  • Swelling and pain in the arm you are getting injected
  • Mild or high fever for 1-2 days
  • Feeling tired for 2-3 days

As your fever goes away, all of these side effects will go away too.

Post Vaccination

You should always stay in the vaccination center for at least 30 minutes. The health care workers present there will observe for any kind of abnormal reaction to the vaccine that you might have. Although these side effects are quite rare, they are:

  • Itching
  • Fainting
  • Vomiting
  • Severe allergic reaction
  • Difficulties in breathing

The health workers will monitor your health and in case any of these side effects occur, you will require treatment. They will either appear in the first 30 minutes. If not, then you can leave the center without any worry.

For your second vaccination appointment

If you have only received your first dose, make sure you get your second dose too as soon as possible. The gap given between the two doses is 4-12 weeks. Do not exceed this given time limit. Schedule it within the given timeline and don’t miss your appointment. If you have already faced a lot of side effects post the first dose, you can rest assured. In most cases, such people are not suffering many side effects in their second dose.

Take care of yourself at home

Post-vaccination, you will need to take care of yourself. During this time, your immunity is going to be low. So, eat well and take rest at home for 2-3 days. Drink water or any other kind of fluids to keep yourself hydrated.

Make sure you are not COVID-19 infected before getting your vaccination. To confirm, get tested in the COVID-19 test clinic in the UK. If the result comes negative, you are free to take your vaccination.
