At the lower end of this HP Envy inkjet lineup, the HP Envy 5055 Printer Review All-in-One Printer is an entry-level all-in-one (AIO) printer constructed with families and home offices in your mind. Why is having more than the XP-7100 and a few other competitors envious is an option to lower running costs through the HP Instant Ink program. If you don't do a Great Deal of multi-page copy or scan jobs.

Slim and Fashionable Among its many competitors, Canon's same-priced wireless Pixma TS6320 Wireless All-in-One is one of the closest in size and girth, largely because none of the machines arrive with an ADF. The downside is, of course, you forgo the ease of allowing your AIO feed multi-page scanning and copying tasks while doing something else important, like catching up on the most recent pandemic information, or maybe something more enjoyable. , like having a snack.

Ordinarily, AIOs using ADFs, such as the Epson XP-7100 or Brother's MFC-J995DW Tank All-in-One, are not only somewhat larger but are recorded for a bit more as well. But frequently saving you and your loved ones time and tedium of copying more documents (placing webpages on the scanner glass, scanning, deleting, placing another page, then repeating the procedure ) is an investment which pays off. (Incidentally, to get an ADF in an HP Envy AIO, then you'll need to update to the Envy Photo 7855 or another model from the Envy 7000 series).

Among the machines mentioned here so much, all but the Pixma TS6320 include touchscreen control panels (albeit relatively small). On the other hand, the Envy 5055's 2.2-inch display is monochrome, when compared with the full-color screens on the XP-7100 and MFC-J995DW. Color displays allow you, among other items, to preview documents and pictures before printing directly from USB memory sticks or SD flash cards. But then, neither the Envy 5055 nor the Canon AIO support printing or scanning to flash memory devices. Epson and Brother, on the other hand, support USB memory sticks, and Envy 7855 lets you use the two USB drives and SD cards.

In terms of connectivity, the standard interfaces for the Envy 5055 are Wi-Fi, which connects to a single PC through USB, and Wireless Direct, HP's version of the popular Wi-Fi Direct peer-to-peer network protocol. To get the printer in the handheld smartphone or tablet without being on a local area network (LAN).

Other cellular connectivity choices include Apple AirPrint, Mopria, HP ePrint (for printing emails and attachments), and the HP Smart App, a cross-platform controller with various workflow automation features and other value-added features. (A discussion regarding the wise app and the other bundled software is coming up.)

Concerning paper capacity and quantity evaluations, the Envy 5055 Paper Tray holds 100 sheets of letter-size paper, 10 envelopes, or 20 sheets of premium picture paper. And HP rates the all round highest monthly duty cycle in 1,000 pages, with a recommended monthly print volume of around 400 prints. That's 1,000 pages less than the XP-7100's maximum duty cycle, though its recommended volume is exactly the same. The maximum for the MFC-J995DW is 4,000 points higher compared to Envy 5055, and its recommended max volume is 1,100 more pages.
