Every ship may look a bit different, but they can be lumped into a few main classifications. These ships may be outfitted for trade, combat, or both, so take care when engaging!

Stats explained:

Decks: Number of decks on ship, from lowest to highest. Decks that can hold supplies/cargo/crew are Hold, Brig, Galley, and Main. Storing anything below keeps it safe from sunlight and thieves, but open to damage by water or ship fighting.

Gun Ports: Any ship can be outfitted with cannons. But cannons aren't cheap, and if hit, aren't reparable on board the ship. Damaged cannons will need to be taken to a port's shipwright and repaired or scrapped.

Speed: At full sail, and with full wind, these ships can move a certain number of squares per turn. The direction of the wind and angle of your sails will determine how much speed you actually have.

Cargo/Supplies Capacity: This number determines how many loads of items can be held on board for your journey. One spot should be taken by food, and another by wood, tar, and sailcloth for repairs, leaving the rest for cannonballs, prisoners, or cargo.

Crew Capacity: This number determines how many people can sleep comfortably on the ship. Comfortable sleep is not a luxury, but a necessity in order to have the ability to work properly the following day. If you are overloaded, consider moving less important people to the brig, or identifying who isn't getting a bed that night. They won't be able to help out with work, though.

Seaworthiness: This number determines the base hit points for each ship. The actual number may vary depending on upgrades or previous damage.
